In 1934 the first Masters Tournament was held and here we are all set to witness the 83rd edition of the first of golf’s four major championships. Masters and Augusta National has seen and created countless incredulous moments. It’s that time of the year when history will be made, afternoons will be magical and the world will get to see the unique atmosphere and tradition of the tournament. The tournament will start on April 12, 2019, and will conclude with the fourth round on Sunday, April 14.
This is the most prestigious tournament for the golfers. In the game’s history, only 17 players have won more than once. Jack Nicklaus, who has won the six times, holds the record for most Masters wins. He was the oldest golfer to have won at the age of 46. On the other hand, Tiger Woods, at the age of 21 became the youngest golfer to win. Woods and Arnold Palmer have each made it to the victory four times.
Golfers to look out for
Patrick Reed: Last year’s winner Reed has five PGA Tour Wins, plus he broke Tiger Wood’s record at WGC- Doral in 2014 and became the youngest World Golf Champion ever. It wouldn’t be a surprise if he made it to the victory this year as well.
Tiger Woods: The four times winner of Masters Tournament, Woods won the 1997 Masters by 12 strokes in a ground-breaking performance. After all the record making and breaking, the legend is expected to win the tournament fifth time.
Justin Rose: Having won at Torrey Pines this year, 2019 might be the lucky year for Justin Rose. The World Golf ranked No. 1 and FedEx Cup victor seems to be on the roll.
Jordan Spieth: After a great 2019 start, the winner of the Green Jacket in 2015 Jordan is seeking for another win.
Phil Mickelson: The 49-year-old oldest competitor Phil is playing stellar golf with a win in February at the AT & T Pebble Beach and three Masters Titles. He can give a tough competition.
