After an intriguing performance by golfers on Saturday, Erin Hills is all set to host the Grand Finale (Final Round) of the 117th U.S. Open Championship.

Brian Harman and Justin Thomas will be in the final group on Sunday at the 117th U.S. Open. Thomas made history at the U.S. Open on Saturday when he fired the lowest round in relation to par with a 9-under-par 63, but that still has him one off of leader Brian Harman. Thomas made nine birdies and that closing eagle against just a pair of bogeys. He finds himself in prime position to chase his first major victory on Sunday.

Third round has set up a mood for the finale round which will be full of thrill and excitement for the golfing fans.

Brooks Koepka and Tommy Fleetwood are also only one shot off the lead and will play together again in the final round, in the penultimate group at Erin  Hills.

Rickie Fowler (10 under) and Players champion Si Woo Kim (9 under) are in the third-to-last group.

According to golfing experts, it’s tough to win a major and also getting a second, third or fourth hasn’t exactly been easy of late, either.

Considering the past six major championships which have been won by first-timers, we can say that there’s no reason to think that trend won’t continue at the 117th U.S. Open. Justin Thomas, Brian Harman, Brooks Koepka, Rickie Fowler — they’re all making a case to be the next newbie champion.

Louis Oosthuizen and Sergio Garcia are the only players in the top 25 with majors on their resumes – and, at 4 under, eight strokes behind Harman, they’re not exactly breathing down the leaders’ necks.

Golf is a very unpredictable game and like our lives it also goes in cycles. Past champions be it, Arnie, Jack or Tiger have dominated the game for years. But the recent golf is only about talented players and is performance based. As the revolving door at the majors continues to spin, you just never know who’s going to emerge. The final round coverage will start from 08:30 pm IST on DSPORT.
