The Chinese Super League is going on in full swing; leading all the sports headlines globally. Though the league is active since the year 2004, this year it broke man headlines when leading football stars across clubs started making their move to this coveted league.
Brazilian international star Oscar was the first player to make news when his transfer caught the attention of many football lovers. He completed a £60 million move to Shanghai SIPG in January 2017. Former Manchester United star Carlos Tevez and Nigeria Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi also made their switches to the Chinese Super League, making it one of the recognized leagues across the globe.

16 teams, eying Europe
Unlike other European leagues, there are only 16 teams that are playing in Chinese Super League. In the English Premier League there are twenty teams that are campaigning. Even though, all these clubs like Yanbian Funde, Henan Jianye, Liaoning Whowin, Changchun Yatai, Tianjin TEDA and others are working hard to make their mark in the European arena; their players eying their spots for those clubs.
34 players of foreign origin playing this year
There are altogether 34 players of foreign origin playing this year at Chinese Super League. So far, the most number of players who have participated in Chinese Super league have come from Brazil, a total of 173 players.
It began in 2004
The Chinese Super League is a 13 years old championship; it began in the year 2004. It is one of those football tournaments outside European and South American region which has tasted success and is still counting. The inaugural season was played in 2004 and was won by Shenzhen Jianlibao.
16 clubs, dominated by one
Though, there are 16 clubs altogether playing at the Chinese Super League, Guangzhou Evergrande have been dominating the League in recent years. They have been champions six times on the spin since claiming their first title in 2011. Not only in China, they have established their metal in Aisa as well by conquering the AFC Champions League in two of the last four years.
