News: The pair of Lucas Pratto and Luiz Araújo of Sao Paulo came into action again this Sunday in Morumbi, and led the Tricolor victory over Palmeiras by 2 to 0 in the third round of the Brazilian Championship 2017. The match was live televised on DSport.

Sao Paulo retained the 15 years unbeaten record over the rival at home and packed the second consecutive triumph in the Brazilian Championship.

In a game where the two defences stood out for most of the time, the classic was decided by two routes: the inspiration of Pratto and the unhappy night of Fernando Prass. First, Lucas Pratto received a pass from Marcinho and showed opportunism when he struck in the corner of Prass to open the scoring with 17 minutes of the final stage. The error of the goalkeeper hit Palmeiras.

The success of one and the mistake of another leaves Sao Paulo in a comfortable situation on the table of the Brazilian League, especially for a team that flirted with the crisis. They are six points in three rounds and the vice-leader at the end of this Saturday. Palmeiras, on the other hand, loses the second consecutive game and remains with three points.

In order to try to pack for the Brazilian Championship, São Paulo will need to look for a positive result away from home. Next Sunday, starting at 16h (from Brasília), RogérioCeni’s team faces the Preta Bridge, in Campinas. Palmeiras, under the need of rehabilitation, enters the field on the same date and time to receive Atlético-MG, at Allianz Parque.
